Skype.

Great news people.

It's time for the revolution.

For the safest online transaction - If you are willing to go through the process of opening a free PayPal account, then you will reap the rewards, without doubt. You can also use PayPal to purchase other things online, ah, that opens up a whole new dimension to online shopping. However, beware. This is not for the clicker-happy people.

Despo people who don't want the trouble - Just use your online banking facility and transfer your funds to Skype, takes longer to receive your Skype credits. (i think)

For those of you who are overseas and are trying to find the cheapest way possible to call home.
SkypeOut is so far the only one I know that has the cheapest calling rates.

Firstly, if you already know that you will be overseas for some time and want to save money on the long run making calls overseas, local and even sending SMS to both international and national numbers, use SkypeOut. Here are the rates to prove it, (Australia to Malaysia) Skype-to-Skype is of course free!

Connection fee cost AUD 0.068.
Note: Most of the rates are below ten cents per minute!

For international calls to landlines in Malaysia = AUD 0.027.
For international calls to mobiles in Malaysia = AUD 0.075.
For national calls within landlines in Australia = AUD 0.027.
For national calls within mobiles in Australia = AUD 0.264.

All rates are PER MINUTE.

Prepaid people: you are better off just buying a reload if you have spent all your credits and wanting to call and send SMS locally. After all 30 dollars serve you 120/150 dollars. Vodafone/Optus.

For international SMS to Malaysia = AUD 0.130.
For national SMS within Australia = AUD 0.118.

Other calling rates are available at the link above.

One thing I like about the Skype SMS feature is that it allows you to add your mobile number to it. So when you send your SMS through Skype, the recipient would see the SMS as though it was sent from your mobile or with your Skype ID, and if the recipient replies, you'll receive the SMS on your mobile! (if you activate the feature to link your mobile number)

Hot tips for stalkers and the junkies, you can spam somebody's inbox with your Skype ID and he/she can't send a text back, ID could be anything ;), right? or if you like stalking people on the phone, good news, private number will show up on the person's mobile when you call.

Can't beat the rates the local telcos are offering! So if ya on your computer and want to make a call or sms, SkypeOut baby. However don't SkypeOut when you have plenty of prepaid credits and it's going to expire soon!

For the Malaysians, 1 AUD is roughly 2.9 RM. Fluctuates, but nonetheless, average is 2.9.

That's what friends are for, when there is something good. Share it right?
Thanks for reading, I'm sure you are glad you clicked on my boring blog page this time!

Happy SkypeOut-ing people!
